With a wide range of produce from the famous Salcombe Smokies to our divine squid, lobster and lemon sole, we have something to suit all tastes. We deliver 6 days a week around Plymouth and 3 days a week further afield.
Our History
Rex Down wholesale Fish Merchants is a family-run business that was established in 1971 by Rex Down. He opened his Fish Merchants on the Fish Quay that was situated on The Barbican in Plymouth, supplying the local restaurants, hotels and community of Plymouth.
In the mid 1990’s the Fish Quay was moved across to Sutton Harbour, Plymouth, to where it is still based. Rex’s son, Rikki Down, followed his parents into the business and continues to work with Plymouth Trawler Agents, buying the freshest fish to supply to his customers, along with a huge array of frozen fish products.
Locally caught fresh seafood
Rikki will source fish from local suppliers as well as further afield to provide a vast variety of fresh and frozen fish to all his customers. The Rex Down Company is proud to supply excellent quality fish to many businesses in Plymouth, Cornwall and Devon and we would love to become a supplier to your business too.
